DocuGlow ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website docuglow.ai (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read it carefully. By using DocuGlow you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Account registration: email address and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plain-text password)
Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
Document content: text you paste or upload for transformation
Branding details: company name, logo, address, phone, and email you enter in the Service
Communications: emails or messages you send to our support address

Information collected automatically:

Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps
Device information: operating system, screen resolution, and language settings
Usage data: features used, transform counts, and session duration
Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6)

2. Document Content

Documents you submit for AI transformation are sent to Anthropic's API for processing and are not stored on our servers after the transform completes. If you use the optional document storage feature (available on paid plans), your saved documents are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage and are accessible only to you. We never use your document content to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.

To process payments and manage subscriptions
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts)
To send product updates and promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (database and file storage), Anthropic (AI document processing), Vercel (hosting and infrastructure), Zoho (transactional email)
Advertising platforms: We may share limited data (such as hashed email addresses or pixel-based events) with Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram) to measure ad performance and reach relevant audiences. This is governed by Meta's data policies.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of DocuGlow, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Advertising

We may use the Meta Pixel on our website. The Meta Pixel is a piece of code that allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising by understanding actions people take on our website, and to show ads to people who have visited our site or taken certain actions. Information collected via the Meta Pixel may include pages visited, actions taken (such as signing up or subscribing), and device information. This data is processed in accordance with Meta's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Meta's use of this data for advertising purposes by visiting your Facebook ad settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function. These include your authentication session cookie, which keeps you signed in. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without stopping use of the Service.

Advertising cookies: If you have visited our site, Meta and other advertising platforms may place cookies that allow us to show you relevant ads on their platforms.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Saved documents are retained until you delete them. Log and usage data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, PBKDF2-SHA512 password hashing, and encrypted storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at letsgo@docuglow.ai and we will delete it promptly.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

DocuGlow is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
